Lễ hội Đền Hùng – Das Fest des Hùng-Tempels

d

Today is a holiday in Vietnam. Since 2007, the 10th day of the third lunar month is celebrated as a commemoration day of the Vietnamese nation’s founders, the Hùng-Kings, in the whole country. Two years ago I wrote about the background in detail (cf. http://cathrinka.blog.de/2012/06/12/legende-ursprung-vietnamesischen-nation-13854043/). The memorial temple in honor of the Hùng-Kings is in the Phù Tho province, a bit to the north of Hanoi. At this temple, there was a great temple celebration from Saturday afternoon till today. According to the media, more than five million visitors took part in the festivity during five days. This number, however, does not sound very realistic to me. At the great pageant 100 young men symbolized the 100 children of all Vietnamese people, Âu Cơ. Best regards Cathrin Cathrin’s Blog: Zwischen Traditionen und Moderne
